Role Details
As a Cellar Door host you will passionately deliver a comprehensive and exceptional wine experience to visitors at the Hardys Cellar Door.
In this role, you will be the face of the Hardys Brand, supporting the Cellar Door Manager to deliver exceptional wine and tour experiences to our visitors and showcasing some of the finest wines in our portfolio.
Your Key Accountabilities
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience to cellar door customers, acting as tour guide, experience host and tasting guide
• Operate the cash register, including daily opening, closing and balancing duties
• Promote our wine club membership to visitors and sign up new members
• Undertake daily housekeeping duties to maintain the cellar door appearance
• Restock the cellar door and stock room
• Pick, pack and dispatch wine orders for customers
• Undertake basic food preparation and serve food
• Prepare and serve barista coffees
• Grow our premium member data base and sales by promoting inhouse activities and our portfolio through telephone marketing.
• Support the Cellar Door Manager to host events that showcase our historic Cellar Door and portfolio.

Your Knowledge and Skills
• Strong understanding and passion for wine and the winemaking process
• Ability to portray stories to others – both wine and history
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to work in a diverse team
Essential Qualifications
• Experience in a cellar door or the wine industry (highly desirable)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and with a team
• WSET Level 2 (desirable)
• Responsible Service of Alcohol training (RSA)
• Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling (desirable)
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft suit and EDM software (desirable)
Physical and Other Requirements
• Must have drivers Licence
• This role involves occasional lifting of heavy objects
• Frequent manual handling of glassware for polishing
• Regular weekday and weekend work is required
