Role Details
Step into the heart of the Barossa Valley and become part of the team behind two of Australia’s most iconic wine brands - St Hugo & Grant Burge.
As our Front of House Host, you’ll be the face of our luxury wine and dining experiences, welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism, and delivering exceptional service that reflects the quality of our wines and the beauty of our region.
Whether guiding guests through curated wine tastings, sharing the stories behind our labels, or providing seamless service in our fine dining restaurant, you’ll help create unforgettable moments for every visitor.
This role is perfect for someone with cellar door or premium hospitality experience, who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and has a genuine passion for wine, food, and storytelling.
This is a permanent part-time role with a guaranteed minimum of 24 hours per week, with the flexibility to increase hours based on business needs.
What You'll Do
- Deliver warm, professional food and wine service across restaurant and cellar door
- Lead structured tastings and share brand stories with confidence and passion
- Drive wine sales, club sign-ups, and guest engagement through storytelling
- Manage bookings, POS transactions, and support daily operations
- Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and guest experience
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth service across all areas
- Stay curious—keep learning about wine, food, and hospitality trends
What We're Looking For:
You’re confident, polished, and passionate about creating unforgettable guest experiences. You bring warmth, professionalism, and a genuine love for wine, food, and storytelling.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience in premium hospitality—cellar door or fine dining preferred
- A current RSA certificate and flexibility to work across a 7-day roster
- Strong communication and sales skills, with a focus on guest engagement
- A proactive, team-first attitude and attention to detail
- A desire to keep learning—wine knowledge or WSET Level 2 is a bonus
Desirable
• WSET qualification or other wine education programme
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Hospitality certification or equivalent
• Responsible Person badge
• Current Fire Warden certificate
• Barista experience
• Knowledge of other Cellar Door/ Hospitality offerings in the local area
