Role Details

The Procurement Category Manager (Indirect) is responsible for developing and executing category strategies across Vinarchy’s direct procurement portfolio. This role manages supplier relationships, leads sourcing initiatives, drives cost optimisation, and ensures alignment with operational needs and long term business goals.

Your Key Accountabilities

•    Oversight and coordination of contracts with a combined value of approximately $100 million AUD.
•    Lead sourcing and supplier management for key indirect spend categories, including (but not limited to) marketing, packaging services, MRO (maintenance, repair and operations), logistics, facilities management, and professional services.
•    Support the implementation of effective procurement practices to meet business objectives for assurance of supply, quality, service, cost, innovation, and regulatory compliance.
•    Drive value creation across cost, service, innovation, sustainability, and risk outcomes.
•    Develop and execute multi year category strategies aligned to business priorities
•    Actively manage demand, consumption, and total cost of ownership within categories
•    Utilise Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools to manage and maintain accurate, up-to-date contract documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
•    Preparation and management of procurement activities, including RFX documentation, tenders, evaluations, and contract negotiations.
•    Develop and manage strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors and suppliers, driving improvements in category offerings and securing favourable commercial terms.
•    Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to understand business priorities, operational requirements, and customer needs, ensuring procurement solutions align with organisational goals.
•    Leverage spend analytics, digital procurement tools, and supplier insights to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and enhanced buying experiences for stakeholders.
•    Provide data-driven reporting and analysis to support decision-making, measure category performance, track KPIs, and monitor project outcomes.
•    Collect, analyse, and manage supplier performance data, using insights to proactively address issues, identify opportunities, and strengthen supplier partnerships.
•    Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain, ensuring business continuity and adherence to relevant legal, regulatory, and corporate governance frameworks.
•    Understand and apply Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies and procedures, including the administration of modern slavery compliance and responsible sourcing initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

•    Sharp commercial instincts with a strategic mindset
•    Proficiency in utilising Microsoft Office Suite, with a great understanding of Excel.
•    Experience with category management tools and software for data analysis and reporting.
•    Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
•    Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
•    Excellent negotiation, influencing, and relationship management abilities
•    Prior experience in procurement, category management, or commercial roles preferred including experience in contract negotiation, RFX / tender processes, and supplier performance management.

Physical and Other Requirements

•    Some business travel may be required from time to time
•    Occasional out of hours work may be required  
•    Must have drivers Licence
