About the role
You’re the person people call when things stop.
The one who knows how to get it running — properly — and keep it that way.
Berri Estate Winery is looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter who enjoys being trusted, relied on and respected for their trade. If you know your way around pumps, conveyors, tanks and processing equipment — and take pride in leaving things better than you found them — you’ll fit right in.
This is a genuine hands on role in a busy winery where your work has real impact every day. Less ticking boxes, more problemsolving, improving reliability, and keeping production moving alongside a solid team that values what you do.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver preventive maintenance to keep equipment reliable and performing at its best
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across tanks, pumps, presses, filtration systems and conveyors
- Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Support new equipment installations and commissioning
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Record work accurately in the computerised maintenance system
- Manage spare parts and assist with general facility maintenance
- Work closely with production teams while meeting safety, food‑grade and environmental standards
What You'll Bring:
You’re reliable, calm under pressure, and confident managing competing priorities — whether working independently or as part of a team.
- Trade qualification (Cert III Engineering – Mechanical or equivalent)
- Experience in a winery, food & beverage, or manufacturing environment
- Strong fault‑finding and mechanical problem‑solving skills
- Forklift licence and experience with manual handling and hazardous substances
- Comfortable and certificates in working at heights and in confined spaces
- Solid understanding of lock out/tag out procedures and hot works
