About the role

Working amidst the stunning landscapes of Marlborough at Vinarchy Winery, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety throughout our operations. We are seeking a Laboratory Technican for fixed term year contract. This position involves following precise testing and reporting procedures while contributing to a clean, organised, and safe work environment. Success in this role comes from being adaptable and reliable, demonstrating accuracy and efficiency in all testing and reporting tasks, and bringing a positive, team-focused attitude with strong communication skills.

As with many roles in the wine industry, flexibility is key—our teams work hours that align with the viticulture growing cycle and wine production needs, and during peak harvest and vintage periods, extended hours are part of the exciting journey of crafting exceptional wines.

What You'll Do:

• Routinely collect, prepare and test wine and juice samples using automated analytical instruments
• Accurately report results for the Winemaker and Viticulture team, using LIMS and other reporting systems
• Be available for extended hours over vintage

What You’ll Bring:

• Laboratory experience with a good understanding of lab protocols and procedures
• May have a winemaking or science related degree
• Excellent time management skills to prioritise workload and report results by deadlines
• Good analytical skills and accurate reporting
• Reliable and hard working
